Will my ex come back?

Every quiz that answers this is answering about somebody else. 400 people can tell you what happened to them, and none of it is about the person you are asking about.

Here is what actually carries signal, and how to read it without lying to yourself in either direction.

The base rate was never the unit

"Do dumpers usually reach out?" has an answer, and the answer is useless to you. It averages hundreds of different people into 1 number, and you need to know about 1 person.

The useful question is narrower: does this person go quiet and come back, or go quiet and stay gone? You have watched them do one of those before.

What actually predicts it

Have they gone quiet before, and what ended it. If they have come back from silence before, notice what brought them back — was it time, or did someone reach first?

Whether anything is still open. An unanswered question is a door. A clean ending with nothing left to say is not.

What changed recently versus what they have always been like. Someone who has always been slow to reply is not sending a signal by being slow. Someone who never was, is.

The 2 mistakes that look opposite and are the same

Reading every small thing as a sign, and refusing to read anything as a sign. Both are ways of not looking at the record.

A viewed story is not a message. But 3 changes in different places in the same month is not nothing either. The test is whether it is new for them.

If they came back — what not to do in the first hour

Do not ask them to explain the gap in message 1. It is the most natural thing to want and it closes the door fastest, because the honest answer is usually something they are not ready to say yet.

Answer the message they actually sent. The gap will get discussed. It does not have to be discussed at minute 1.

What ZZEND does with this

It keeps a file on 1 person — how they usually text, what has been changing lately, and what you have told us is simply true about them. Then it reads a new message against that instead of against a stranger.

You can correct it when it is wrong, and what you delete stays deleted.
