He texts me every day but never makes plans. Does he like me?

It means 1 of 2 things. Either he wants more and something is in the way, or the texting is the part he wants, and he is happy for it to stay there.

Both look exactly the same in a thread full of good morning messages. The difference only shows up when a real plan is on the table, and that is where to look.

Why the usual answers do not help

Search "he texts all day but doesn't ask me out" and you get 2 camps. One says he is shy. The other says he is keeping you on the side. Both are describing somebody, and neither of them has read your thread.

Texting every day feels like a lot of effort, so it feels like it should mean a lot. But a text takes 10 seconds and can be sent from the couch. A plan takes an evening, a choice and a bit of risk. They are not the same kind of effort, and it is normal for 1 to show up without the other.

The 1 thing that decides it

Look at what happened the last time a plan came close.

If a real plan has never come up at all, you do not have your answer yet. You have a question you have not asked. That is fixable, and it is cheaper than guessing.

What changes the read

How long it has been. 2 weeks of daily texting with no date is early. 4 months of it is a shape.

What is actually in the way. Different cities, night shifts, a hard month he has told you about. A real reason does not mean no. It does mean you should expect a plan to look smaller, like a call, or coffee in 2 weeks.

Whether "sometime" ever becomes a day. "We should get food sometime" said once is friendly. Said 6 times with no day attached, the vagueness is the message.

Who starts the daily texts. If he starts them, this is a different problem from a guy who never texts first. He is reaching for you. He is just not reaching past the phone.

What to send back

Do not ask "why don't you ever ask me out." It turns a good thread into a complaint, and he will answer the complaint, not the question.

Make 1 small, specific plan, once, in the same easy voice you already text in. Something like: i'm free saturday afternoon if you want to get coffee

It is light, it has a real day in it, and it is easy to say yes to. If he says yes and picks a time, you were in the first case. If he says "maybe, we'll see" or changes the subject, read that answer for what it is. You did not have to ask what you are to him. The plan asked for you.

When sending nothing today is the better move

If you already offered a real day and he went vague, do not offer another one this week. A second invite right after a soft no only asks him to say it again.

You do not need to stop replying as a test either. Just stop being the only one who carries plans. Keep texting at the level you enjoy, and let the next plan come from him. If it does, good. If it does not, that is information you got without a fight.

What ZZEND does with this

You paste the conversation and it reads it as a stretch of time, not 1 message — who starts the daily texts, what happened each time a plan came up, and whether that has been changing.

Then it writes the reply back in 4 tones, and tells you if the better move today is to wait instead of sending anything.
