The date went well. At the door he said "let's do this again." Then nothing, and now you have read that sentence in your head 40 times.
The real question under this is not "what happened." It is "did he mean it." And the answer to that is not in the silence. It is in what he said before he left.

Type "he said let's do this again and didn't text" and that is the answer you get. That line is about a stranger. Some people text the same night. Some people wait for the other person to go first. Some go quiet after every good thing and come back a few days later.
A rule cannot tell you which one sat across from you. You have more to go on than the rule does.
"let's do this again" can be polite, or it can be a plan. Look at how specific he got.
How he texted before the date. If he usually started the conversations, silence now is a change. If you were the one who usually texted first, he may be doing what he always does: waiting for you.
You are not waiting because you do not want to text. You are waiting because you do not know if he meant it. But 2 more days will not tell you that. They just add 2 days of guessing on top of what he already said.
Is it too late to text him after the date? A few days is not long. What makes a message feel late is when it talks about the gap, not the gap itself.
Point at the date, not at the silence. Skip "haven't heard from you" and "was it something i said." Those ask him to explain the quiet, and the date was the good part.
If he named something, use it. Something like: still thinking about that ramen place. you said this again, so i'm holding you to it
That is 1 easy message he can say yes to in a few words. Send it once. What he does with it is the answer, and you did not have to ask for one.
If it has only been a few hours since the date, there is nothing to fix yet.
If you already sent that follow-up and he has not answered, a 2nd message about the silence will not help. Double texting goes into when a 2nd message works and when it does not. Sending nothing today is a normal answer here.
If he told you he did not feel it, or later said he is not interested, believe him the first time and do not push contact.
You paste the conversation and it reads the quiet against him rather than against a rule: how he texted before the date, what he said about next time, and whether going quiet is new for him or his normal.
Then it writes the reply back in 4 tones, and tells you if the better move today is to wait instead of sending anything.
Try it on your conversation
